Three years ago, a large oak tree behind Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen in Richmond needed to come down. Its wood was salvaged though and now is furniture in the new Katy location that opened on March 5, 2020.

Just like that tree, roots of family and community run deep in the two coffeehouses that are owned by two couples.
